With winter approaching and temperatures starting to drop, Halloween is around the corner. With everything happening in the world right now, having fun decorations may brighten your mood around Halloween. We have put together a list of fun, eco-friendly Halloween decorations you can make with kids to pass time or on your own to create a Halloween atmosphere and keep spirits up.

Have a look at our easy to make Halloween decorations and projects, to perk up your office or home. Here are a few tips and tricks that will help you to make decorations using your office supplies you may have laying around like sellotape, post-it sticky notes, newspapers, pencils and more. Get creative and make fun, eco-friendly decorations in a few quick and easy steps.

Balloon Pumpkins

Fill orange balloons with chocolates and sweets, which you can also order from us at Albany Supplies and inflate the balloons. The chocolates allow the balloons to stand sturdy on your desk, reception table or coffee table. Draw a lantern face with a black permanent marker (a dry wipe or whiteboard marker won’t work for this). Make it scary or cute - get as creative as you want.

Printed Halloween Pictures

Use your printer and white paper to print out pictures of ghosts, bats or scary pumpkins and use scissors to cut them out in shapes and stick them around the office or your home office. To make them stronger, use cardboard and stick the paper to it using glue so they look better, stronger and can hold their shape better.

Paper Pumpkins

Paper pumpkins make a great centre-piece for your office desk, or front area or in your home. Use leftover paper from the shredder and staple it together into a paper pumpkin. If you don’t want to use shredded paper from documents, shred some newspapers instead. This easy way to make decoration pumpkins means you’re recycling and teaching your kids sustainable crafts rather than buying.

Glowing Eyes

For this, you will need toilet paper rolls and glow sticks. Cut out creepy eyes with a knife and insert the glow stick inside, securing it with some tape. Put the glow eyes in darker places in your office or at home to create scary-looking Halloween decorations.

Halloween Lamp Shades

Sketch out some bat shapes - templates can easily be found on Google. Cut your stencils out and use black paper to create your flying bats, then use two loops of scotch tape or sellotape one on each wing and stick them to the inside of your lampshades to create a creepy Halloween ambience when lights are turned on. Just make sure not to stick it anywhere close the light bulb to avoid any fire hazards.

Spider Web Bin Bags

You will get two spider webs out of each bin bag so you’ll only need one or two bags altogether and a pair of scissors. Trim the sides and a bottom of the bin bag to make two rectangles, then fold and cut the excess off to make a square. Fold the square over three times to make a cone, then tape the open edge. Draw a spider web pattern with a gold permanent marker then cut it out and remove the tape. Pull it apart and now you have two spider webs!

You can also make a DIY spider from an empty milk plastic bottle by wrapping it up in black duct tape and creating DIY eyes. Then use the black duct tape to wrap around scrunched up paper to create long spider legs and attach them to the body.

You can always just print out some banners too, make sure you are stocked up on coloured ink so your banners and printed out decorations are vibrant and colourful.
